OUR STORY

Since 1989, CHET has been at the forefront of training pastors and Christian leaders for Latino ministries and communities. As the leading institution for Latino ministry education within the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), CHET empowers leaders nationwide and globally through comprehensive theological and practical ministry education.

ABOUT THE BRIDGING DREAMS FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The Bridging Dreams: Empowering Leaders, Building Capacity campaign aims to raise $80,000 to support two essential initiatives:

  1. Immigration Ministry Certificate Program – $30,000
This program empowers leaders to advocate for and support immigrant communities. By enhancing our capacity to provide education, resources, and spiritual guidance, we ensure that Latino and multi-cultural ministries remain at the forefront of immigration advocacy.

  2. Capacity Building – $50,000
We are expanding our ability to serve more students, offer more resources, and build the infrastructure needed for CHET’s long-term sustainability. This funding will enable us to scale our programs, invest in faculty, and provide even greater support to the ministries we serve.

Your Gift Makes an Impact:
Every contribution, large or small, directly supports the growth and sustainability of CHET’s mission. Together, we can bridge dreams and build capacity, empowering the next generation of Latino and multi-cultural leaders.

CHET 2024 CHET Immigration Workshop & 2025 Launch of Immigration Certificate

In August 2024, CHET hosted a pivotal Immigration Workshop, equipping Latino leaders with practical tools and insights to address immigration challenges in their communities. Over 100 pastors, ministry leaders, and advocates explored both legal and pastoral approaches.

In 2025, CHET will launch the Immigration Certificate Program, offering specialized training in immigration law, mental health, pastoral responses, and theology.

How Your Support Helps:
A portion of the $30,000 raised will provide tuition and technology fee assistance, making this program accessible to all. Your contribution will also support faculty, materials, and resources, enabling both Latino leaders and those serving in multi-cultural ministries to receive vital training.

How CHET helped me find my path to ministry.

Opening-image_DSC06976.jpg
“When I was first called to serve God as a missionary, I was told that seminary wasn’t for women. But I prayed, asking God to open doors, and He led me to CHET. CHET embraced both women and men, encouraging me to pursue my dream of ministry.
CHET not only gave my husband and me the foundation to serve in various ministries—planting churches in Argentina, working in short-term missions, and ultimately leading as chaplains—but it also provided the support I needed to find my own calling. Today, as an associate chaplain, I bring comfort to people and their families during life’s most critical moments.
Thanks to CHET, I’ve been able to serve Latino and multicultural communities across denominations. God opened doors for me through CHET, and now, I’m fulfilling His purpose for this generation.”

Connie Carillo, Associate Chaplain, Covenant Living at the Holmstad

CHET's Capacity for Future Generations

As CHET grows as a leading institution for Latino ministry education, our ability to serve students, expand programs, and develop resources must also grow. The remaining $50,000 from our Bridging Dreams: Empowering Leaders, Building Capacity campaign will enhance CHET’s infrastructure and expand our reach to better support future ministry leaders.

How Will This $50,000 Be Used?

  • Expanding Programs: We'll increase the number and variety of programs we offer, including new initiatives like the Immigration Certificate Program and the Intercultural and Intergenerational Ministry Leadership Certificate Program. These programs ensure CHET remains at the forefront of theological and practical ministry training.

  • Investing in Faculty and Staff: These resources will allow us to hire and retain experienced faculty and staff who are equipped to guide students on their journey to leadership and service, specifically serving the second, third, and fourth generation of Latinos and leaders in multicultural ministries.

  • Improving Technology and Resources: Embracing hybrid and online learning models, we'll invest in the latest technology to provide quality education. This includes enhanced virtual learning platforms and improved digital resources.
