The Hispanic Center for Theological Studies (CHET) appreciates
your visit to our website.
CHET is an institution with a focus on ministerial formation
and are seeking to assist those whose desire is to serve
the Lord, the church and their communities. We are located
in the geographic center of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, with many satellites
located where sufficient interest and initiative is
present to organize study groups. This allows us to
serve people and communities throughout Southern
California
and beyond.
At CHET we believe that theological education and ministerial
formation belong to all members of the community of
God. Some of our students are pastors, others have just
begun their pilgrimage of faith; some are professionals,
others have little schooling; some come from historical
churches, others belong to new charismatic and Pentecostal
movements. Our students, like the educational and administrative staff, are men and women
committed to serving Christ.
Our services are intentionally directed towards the
Spanish speaking community of God. Generally, this community
does not have access to traditional ministerial formation
institutions. This is often due to language barriers,
high educational costs, long distances, or a myriad
of other inconveniences. CHET concurrently prepares
men and women whose goal is to earn post-graduate degrees
from accredited schools that accept our Bachelor or
Ministry Diploma (some CHET graduates are presently
studying at the master’s degrees level). Our graduates
are serving as pastors, as church planters, as counselors,
as Sunday school teachers, and in other areas of service
to their communities.
If God has called you to equip yourself for His service,
or has called you to prepare members of the community
of God for ministry, CHET would be honored and pleased
to accompany you in your walk so that together we may
give honor and glory to He who has called us to collaborate
for the expansion of His Kingdom.
