The Centro Hispano de Estudios Teológicos (CHET) is a Theological and Pastoral Training School founded in 1989 by The Evangelical Covenant Church to train and equip Hispanic men and women who wish to become church planters, pastors, evangelists and lay leaders for ministry in and out of the Americas.

CHET (Centro Hispano de Estudios Teologicos del Pacto Evangelico) an educational institution is a subordinate organization of The Evangelical Covenant Church of America which is held to be exempt from Federal income tax under section 101 (6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1939, which corresponds to section 501 (c) (3) of the 1954 Code.

CHET is an affiliate of North Park University and Theological Seminary, an Illinois not-for-profit Corporation, operating pursuant to the constitution and bylaws of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

CHET is endorsed by the Asociación Teológica Hispana (ATH), an Association of Theological School (ATS)1970 initiative.

CHET is endorsed by the Facultad Internacional de Educación Teológica (FIET-The International Faculty of Theological Education) and by the Asociación Latinoamericana de Asesoramiento y Pastoral Familiar EIRENE-Internacional (The American Association for Pastoral Care and Family Counseling).

CHET is a member of the Asociación para la Educación Teológica Hispana – AETH (Hispanic Association for Theological Education).

CHET is registered (Reg. #53555769) by the Bureau for Private and Postsecondary and Vocational Education of California (http://www.bppve.ca.gov/) and is approved to grant the following Degrees and Certificates: Certificate in Theology (Pre-Ministerial Program) and the Bachelor in Christian Ministry Diploma (B.Min.).

CHET is approved to offer the Covenant Orientation Program in Spanish to currently credentialed and practicing ministers who want to join the Covenant denomination. The CO program in Spanish meets requirements established by the Covenant Annual Meeting (Chicago, 1996).

CHET professors represent the diversity of all of the Americas (North, South and Central as well as the Caribbean) including the United States. Their academic degrees, educational levels and experience command the broad respect of the evangelical church at large (the majority have earned master or doctoral degrees).
